Project: New Power Plant of SES Ptolemais – Unit 5 Power 660 MWel – Coating of the Cooling Tower

Main project features: Quality Control (QC) and compliance regarding the application of protective coatings to the unit’s cooling tower. The field of tests and tests was carried out on an area of 80,000 m2 and at maximum height of 170 m.

Activities performed: Daily 3rd party inspection to ensure the quality of application of the protective coatings which included climatic monitoring and substrate inspections. The final part of inspection was related with the quality control and assurance of the protective coatings by conducting tests related with the evaluation of dry film thickness and the adhesion strength by pull-off testing.
